Descripción:

This taster session will introduce two professional development courses which will run for 6 weeks from the 22nd of February.

1. International Business law

The course not only considers acquisitions in a UK context but also the international aspects of any transactions that have cross-border elements, such as what does a corporate lawyer need to know about European Union and national competition authorities or other regulatory matters and what are the issues when dealing with a split exchange and completion, execution formalities, money transfers, opinions, notaries, and multiple venues.

2. New Technologies

The course is designed to provide a conceptual understanding of the fundamental shift disruptive technologies are causing in the way legal practice operates. Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technology help achieve different goals when it comes to digital data and the impact of these technologies should not be underestimated. The course discusses AI enabled platforms that facilitate the process of document automation, document analysis, contract review and client engagement. It also covers concepts of distributed ledger and Blockchain technology, as immutable sets of records with time-stamped signatures.
